Frequently Asked Questions

A simple guide to what each page, button, and race-day function does inside Cub Regatta HQ.

Basics

What is Cub Regatta HQ?

Cub Regatta HQ helps a pack set up dens, add racers, run heats, advance finalists, publish results, and organize trophies from one web app.

Getting Started

Where do I begin?

Start on the Race Desk setup page. Choose your event settings, name your dens, add racers by den, and then launch one den at a time.

Race Desk Setup

What do the setup controls do?

Save Settings
Saves the event title, race date, number of dens, advancement rule, elimination format, trophy policy, and den names.
Import Scoutbook Roster
Uploads the Scoutbook Unit Roster Lite Report as a CSV, previews the roster, and lets you select which scouts to import before replacing your current dens and racers.
Add Scouts
Adds one or more racers to a den. Seeds are assigned automatically in the order names are entered.
Scratch / Restore
Temporarily removes or restores a racer without deleting the racer entirely.
Delete
Permanently removes a racer from the race desk.
Start [Den Name]
Creates the bracket for that den and opens the live race console.
Open Race Desk
Opens the live console for a stage that is already in progress.
Start Pack Finals
Starts the finals bracket after enough racers have qualified from the dens.
Scoutbook Import

How do I import a Scoutbook roster?

Report type
Use the Scoutbook Unit Roster Lite Report.
Export format
Export it as a CSV.
Grouping
Set the grouping option to None.
Preview and select
Cub Regatta HQ previews the roster, derives dens from each scout's Sub Unit, and lets you uncheck scouts who are not attending before import.
Live Racing

What do the race console buttons do?

Lane A Wins / Lane B Wins
Records the winner of the current heat and advances the bracket automatically.
Swap Lanes
Switches the racers between Lane A and Lane B for the current pending heat. It does not record a result.
Rerun
Voids the current pending heat and requeues the same matchup later. It does not add losses or change placements by itself.
On Deck
Shows the next scheduled heat when one is already known.
Zero Losses / One Loss
Shows who is still undefeated and who is still alive with one loss in double-elimination play.
Public Pages

What does Public Display do?

Public Display is the family-facing screen. It shows the active heat, on-deck race, qualifiers, and race status without exposing setup or admin controls.

Results

What does Results show?

Results shows completed den standings and pack finals standings, including who qualified and which placement each racer earned.

Awards

What does Trophies show?

Trophies shows who should receive awards based on your current trophy policy, including pack-only or den-plus-pack rules.

Reset Options

What is the difference between Reset Races and Reset All?

Reset Races
This button lives on the Results page. It clears brackets and race results but keeps your event settings and racers in place.
Reset All
Clears the entire race desk for that account, including racers, stage progress, and results.
Account

What is the Profile page for?

Profile lets an organizer update their email, change their password, and log out.

Quick Start

What does the Quick Start button do?

Quick Start opens a six-step walkthrough that explains the normal flow from event setup to awards.

Passwords

What if I forget my password?

Use the Forgot Password link on the login page. If your account has a valid email on file, the app will send you a password reset link.
